At Salt Shaker, we’re here to tell the story you have to tell .

We’re not here just to fill mandates. We’re here to help you tell the story that feels like it needs to stop living in your brain and start living on the screen.

We range in genres and format. At Salt Shaker, we’re concerned first and foremost on the story that you want to tell and the characters living in that story.

From there, we’ll help you find the best way to tell the story, and the best places to bring it.

That might be a TV series, or a feature, or even something for the tiniest screen.

Whatever it is, we’ll find it or we’ll build it.

Meet Kaitlin.

Kaitlin Saltzman, the company’s founder, is a producer and television executive. She boasts a background in robust slates ranging in genre and demographic and is known for character-forward projects with distinct voices, a go-getter mentality, strong relationships with and championship of writers, and leadership and mentorship throughout the industry and beyond.

She is a voting member of the Television Academy and has been the Co-President of HRTS Associates, a mentor in various programs, and a regular both as a panelist and a guest at various panels and creator accelerators around town.

Kaitlin cares deeply about representation and equity, and believes that television is the most powerful tool that we have to affect hearts and minds and to enact impactful change. Every show she’s developed for nearly a decade has been a champion of a concept or group in this space in some way, though she’s a big fan of hiding the broccoli in the chocolate. Nobody likes to be preached to, after all.

Panels she’s hosted have ranged in topic but always centered around these ideas. These include “A Conversation with Lena Waithe on Pride, Black Lives Matter, and Inclusive Storytelling” in 2020; a “Work/Life Balance Panel” in 2019; a panel with TIME’S UP in 2018; and a mixer with Power to Decide in 2017.

In her previous role of over six years, she was the Vice President, Head of Scripted at WV Entertainment, a celebrity-led production company with a first-look deal at CBS Studios. There, she built a slate focused on underrepresented voices and stories. During her tenure there, she sold over a dozen projects to a variety of networks and streamers, including one with a full season order of scripts, one with an order of two additional scripts, and one with an order of one additional script. She also got almost two dozen more set up with various studios.

Previously, she was the Vice President, Head of Television at another celebrity-led production company, Blondie Girl Productions, which was in an overall deal with Warner Horizon and Warner Bros. There, she focused on stories promoting female empowerment.

Before that, she spent six years on the buying side. She was a Coordinator in Comedy and Drama Development at CBS, where she worked on shows such as SCORPION, MOM, THE MILLERS, PURE GENIUS, LIFE IN PIECES, MACGYVER, BULL, THE ODD COUPLE, and MADAM SECRETARY. She also worked extensively with the writers of the CBS Diversity Showcase, mentoring more than 100 writers in the program. Kaitlin also worked as an assistant in NBC’s Current Programming department and Page Program.

Kaitlin grew up in New Canaan, Connecticut and earned her BA in Film, Theater, and Government from Connecticut College and her MFA in Film and Television Producing from Chapman University.

Outside of the industry, Kaitlin is a mom to two amazing kids, a wife to an actor and writer, a family and lifestyle photographer in her spare time, an avid reader, and… well, she’s a “doer.” She’s a room mom, an HOA board member, a volunteer… it goes on. She can’t help herself.

And she’ll bring that energy and commitment to your project, too.
